Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. She was moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and attended the Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma knew that she was going to become an actor and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught dance and acting. As a ten year old Emma was a participant in a variety of Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was made in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for the role. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of 2001. The film received praise from experts, as was the performances of its three stars. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and received five awards for the film.
